Open Data: On 28 April 2019, Infrabel is opening its data and holding its first hackathon. Register now! - 22/03/2019
Open Data is sparking a revolution in the transport sector. The availability of increasingly large, relevant data makes it possible to take a new approach to mobility. Infrabel has decided to join the adventure!
On 28 April 2019, Infrabel will publish a large volume of data on the Belgian rail infrastructure as open data (public access, free to use data). Map lovers and rail enthusiasts will be delighted!
A first hackathon
To mark the launch, Infrabel will organise its first hackathon in Brussels, an event where participants work collaboratively. At this very sociable event, professionals, students, rail passengers and journalists are invited to explore, manipulate and process datasets. We plan to organise other events of this kind in the future.
During the day, everyone will be invited to contribute their ideas in a number of workshops:
- Visual creation (dataviz)
- Prototyping new services, …
At the end of the day, the different teams will present their work. These presentations will be made in the presence of the press and will be shared on social media shortly afterwards.
A unique dataset... finally revealed
Whether you're an expert, beginner or simply curious, join us to be involved in devising and representing some of the best innovations imaginable.
On the day of the hackathon a special dataset, particularly expected by commuters, will finally be revealed and will quickly become the focus of everyone's attention. Participants will then be invited, if they wish, to re-use this data as they wish.
Register now! Places are limited. More information on the final programme will be shared very soon on our social media accounts.
