Luc Lallemand has held the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Committee since 2005.


As CEO of Infrabel, Luc Lallemand has been responsible for a major overhaul of the Belgian railway network. In terms of railway safety, he took the Belgian network to a new level by implementing train control systems. Belgium can now be regarded as a pioneer in the field of ETCS, the European Train Control System. Many new railway infrastructure projects have been successfully implemented since he took office. For example, the Belgian high-speed network was fully completed and inaugurated, Brussels Airport is now directly connected to the rail network, the Liefkenshoek rail link in the Port of Antwerp was officially opened and the Schuman-Josaphat railway tunnel was put into service.
