Your Power: Your traction energy
Infrabel supplies electrical energy to all the rail operators running on its network. This power is provided as much for the locomotives and power cars as for passenger train facilities (heating, air-conditioning, lighting, etc.).
With Your Power, your trains benefit from all the electrical power they require through a highly secure network of substations and catenaries.
The benefits of electrical energy
Much more interesting than diesel in terms of power efficiency, electrical power produces much less CO2 per kilometre covered. Because it enables the transport of heavier loads, electrical power helps to ensure greater profitability for freight transport.

By opting for Your Power, you will benefit from the full service offered by Infrabel:
- Purchase of electrical power under the best conditions
- Conversion to the appropriate voltage
- Distribution via a reliable network of substations and catenaries
Privileged supplier
Today, rail operators running on the Belgian network must call upon the infrastructure manager for their energy requirements.
The energy they consume is calculated according to the train’s mass and the distance covered. This index is then multiplied by a consumption coefficient specific to each transport category (passengers, freight, high-speed).
Fitted on the rolling stock, energy meters now enable electricity consumption to be measured precisely. Since 1 January 2011, Infrabel systematically uses the data from these meters to calculate energy costs. Only actual consumption will appear on the invoice.
